The Blue Door

The other day, I opened my phone, went to Facebook, and sunlight from "The Blue Door" greeted me.

I have loved that painting for so long.  I felt the universe was opening the door for me.

"The Blue Door", by R. Wintz was willed to me by my great aunt, Lillian Anderson, of Chippewa Falls,

Wisconsin.  It was from the New York Graphic Society, print number 520.

Once when we were visiting, I got to sleep in Lillian's bed, tucked into a little alcove under the slanted

roof of the house.  Directly across from the pillow,  on the opposite wall, hung The Blue Door.

Lillian came to say goodnight and asked me if I liked the painting.  I said yes.  No one had ever asked

what I thought about art before.

Well, what do you like about it? And she named some parts of the picture. She said, the blue door?

And I said yes, the blue door.

The last time I saw Lillian, she was ensconced in a large bed in the dining room. I sat with her

sometimes and she told me stories. One day one of her stories scared me and I screamed.

She became iriitated and firmly told me to open the door under  the stairs, which was right

there. My heart was pounding, for it was dark in the whole room but darkest in the closet.

I reached for the knob, turned it and looked inside. There were coats, hats and galoshes.  Oh.

What did you learn from this? Well, just because it is dark and you don't know what's there

even if you someone told you there was a monster, Open The Door! and look

You will find the truth and will not be scared anymore.

When we came to the house the next time, when I was about five years old, I ran into the

dining room, looking for Lillian. But there was no Lillian, no bed, just their beautiful dining

room table, where grace was said in a lilting Norwegian before we dined.

The adults watched me and said, "Lillian's gone."  "Where?" And they just sort of repeated

She is just gone.

Later in life I had alot of dreams about quilts, like mandalas, only square. And dining rooms where

the patterns were on a table or a bed.  Finally I remembered Lillian in the dining room in

Chippewa Falls.

And now  I have her picture, the one she looked  at before she closed her eyes every night.

Today, I could tell her I love the writing desk, the chair, the inkwell, the open door to the

sea, and of course, the blue door.

All reminding me that I can write, i can be brave in the face of the unknown, and that I can

love.

Sweet dreams to you , Lillian, and thank you for your gift- so deep and sweet it has been to me-

Lockdown Making You Crazy?

Hello! I wonder if some of you have started to notice what I have during this stay-at-home/lockdown of many parts of our society. Memories, regrets, ocurrences you forgot are all sort of rising to the surface of your consciousness. This can be at any time of the day or night. Sometimes they just pop up. Other times there is a slow kind of sneaking up on you. It is kind of uncomfortable. Not like , "Oh, good, here I am in therapy and I get to do a rousing life review and really clean out my energy centers." No, this is like part of your past looking in your window and knocking on the not- too- clean glass and saying, "Hey, remember me?" So, in trying to acknowlege this phenomenon, I came up with a meditation to help. It would be great to just shove that stuff back down and forget about it, but it seems with too much time on our hands, these things creep back. I know, sounds like a horror movie! I am not saying there are not good thoughts and experiences too, but all this is a little overwhelming at times, and I would like to process and move on! So, to begin, breathe. Breathe deeply, drinking in the air, holding it a few seconds, then releasing, whoosh! on the outflow You can even do this standing up if you wish, moving in whatever way feels good to you, as a kind of warm up and relaxing exercise. When you feel ready, sit or lie down in a place you feel very comfortable. Close your eyes and begin to slow your breathing. Slower now, becoming calm, and calmer still. Now go to the inner layer of your aura and breathe, letting whatever needs to come up from your early childhood. You probably will remember many things-take your time-interactions with siblings, feelings about your parents, the environment of your home. Let it come up through the template of your body, rising up out of you. Take a look at it, with no effort, and then release.Give these memories the freedom to go on their way, like a cloud that came from inside, hovering above you for a few minutes and then floating away on the wind. Breathe. Deep breath. Breathe again and let another layer become activated, say, the teenage years. Let the memories, the atmosphere come.Allow yourself to say things to people in those times if you need to.Then watch the cloud gather above you, floating higher and release. Breathe. Settling down again, let early adulthood come up. Lots of material here. Participate as if you are standing outside the situation. They can't see you but can hear you. Say what you want to, good or bad. See the cloud and let it go... As you lie there, keep releasing. You don't have to know what time period, could be yesterday!, what a relief! See your body and your mind becoming lighter, freer and more open Imagine the sun's warmth beaming over your body, healing all of your cells. Bring in a cool breeze to enliven your energy centers and give you a boost. Relax and picture yourself feeling good, having a wonderful day .I hope you can now move forward with your life with more energy and creativity. Namaste, Lia

I'd love to change the world

I'd love to change the world,
But I don't know what to do,
So I leave it up to you-    Ten Years After (rock group)

A friend of mine asked me to write a meditation for this time. I'm sure a lot of people are doing the same, thank goodness.  This is my version.

Find a place where you won't be disturbed.  Ground and begin to breathe.  Deep breaths at first, then slowing to a more natural pace.

Bring earth energy into your feet and legs, then all the way up your spine to the top of your head.   Let it flow back down the front of your body and into the earth.

Use your breath as a pump, releasing on the outbreath.

Begin to release fear from your body.

Release fear from your first chakra at the base of your spine,  release fear from your belly,  from your solar plexus.  Release fear from your heart ( big breath here).

Release from your throat, relaxing your jaw.  Relax the area around your eyes.  And finally release from your forehead area and your brain. Breathe.

You feel lighter, having released so much that you don't need.

Now, open your seventh chakra at the top of your head and let Light from above pour into your body, rushing in like a river of light, healing the sore, beat up places, healing the uncertainty and doubt.  No effort here, just let the Light flow in.

Let  it enter your bloodstream, healing your cells and strengthening their functions.

When you are filled from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head, let the llight spill over into your aura, repairing any rips or tears, forming a protective shield around your body.

Sit for awhile, more calm, more relaxed than you have been . Breathe.

Begin to visualize a huge cup or chalice in front of you. Let light into your crown chakra and   let it flow out your heart chakra, filling the cup. Light from above also flows into the chalice, until it spills over, covering the whole earth and her people, acting as a balm, soothing the fear.

Now,visualize the image you have of this virus ( they show it enough on the news programs, jeez).  See it dissolving, coming apart, dissolving, dissolving, until there is no image left, any residual falling like dust into the earth to be completely neutralized.

Begin to see the earth without this pandemic. People gathering once again, going to their jobs, participating in society, mindful of the lessons we may have learned from this crisis.

Open your  heart to gratitude. Let in a little joy again.

Still running Light through your heart, send  healing and protection to your immeditate family, and to the larger family of humanity, and to the Earth Herself.

Thank you for participating.  I  hope this helps with your personal health and the health of the planet.

Prayer

"I hate you," I screamed.

As soon as I said it, I knew it was wrong.

The nurse said, "Your mother will have to leave if you can't settle down."

Oh, no! That's the last thing I wanted.  I was pounding my legs with my fists because they hurt so much.  At age five, I didn't know what was going on.

One day a man in a white hospital mask came in.

"Don't be afraid, I am Reverend Crozier from your church.  You know me, don't you ?"

Yes, I nodded.

" I have come to pray with you and ask the Lord to help you get better."

He put his hand upon my head and said some words in his beautiful deep  voice.

" Do you know  how to pray?"

Yes. We said The Lord's Prayer together.

He looked just like Michael Rennie.  I knew this because I watched countless old movies on the TV on Saturdays.

The thought crossed my mind, "Does this mean I am going to die? Is it just like the people in the movies receiving last rites from the priest?"

But no, I survived.  What I mostly remember about Reverend Byron Crozier is the depth of his faith and his belief in his prayer for me- so sweet and profound-Thank you.

I still pray, too.  Meditation is prayer of a sort.  I slow down my breathing, and open to any messages about my life or how to be a better person.  I ask for healing for those I know who are ill.  I give thanks for the life and relationships I have.

I wonder if people who have never had any religious instruction pray.  I think they do.

Prayer opens us up to the sacredness of life and helps us think of the other person.  We are reminded how lucky we are, and how beautiful the world can be.

Many things conspire to make us who we are.  If we bring a little consciousness to the process so much the better, whatever religion we follow or don't follow.

And someday I will die, the energy scattering across the universe, becoming a dazzle of light on the water, the wind that hurries the clouds across the sky, and hopefully, part of the sweetness that will live on in my children and grandchildren.

Writer's Block

Recently, my writing took a turn.  All of a sudden, short stories were arriving.  It was interesting and they need a fair amount of revision.  Then I thought, where am I going to put these?  Too long for a blog, do I actually have to send them out?

So I just put the first one, a memoir, on the blog.  Thank you for seeing the love and pain in that one, those of you who responded.

I looked around at all the notebooks I have filled during my life. Thirty-five or so.  I thought, " You have to get rid of these so no one else has to deal with them when you die."  ( Good headspace, huh)

Then I stopped writing.

I knew something was wrong in my life.  I felt weird. What was it?

No notebook writing!

I have journaled for years to keep my sanity, to coach myself, to find out what I really think and feel, to let my creativity flow.

All of the meditations, poetry and stories were first in the journaling. Now, my listening to my guides, the universe and myself was cut off.  I had stopped the flow.

Big Mistake!!!!  This realization cured my writer's block.

My advice is don't stop yourself, don't censor  yourself, don't correct yourself.  And don' t define yourself.

I am choosing to realize I have a body of work, as writers have through the ages.

I have meditations, blogs, poetry, essays, memoirs, recordings for children, teens and adults, and now pieces of writing that may be called short stories.

But mostly I am a messy journal writer.  And yes, I am keeping those journals.  I look closer and find a treasure trove of important dreams, story ideas, reflections, and memories to rework or just remember what my life was like at certain times.

I write the blog because I think someone else must be going through the same thing and needs to  hear that.

So, writer, painter, yoga practitioner, musician, or artist of  your own life, keep the flow, keep the faith and love to you.   Namaste.

A Message I frequently receive

" What is the purpose of life?"

"To create Beauty."

This is the answer I always receive when I ask my guides this question.

To Create Beauty  -  in life
                              -   in our art
                              -   in our relationships
                              -   with our children
                              -    in our work
What is Beauty?
                              -    Love. Love for life
                                              Love for others
                                               Love for nature
Creating Joy and understanding every day, with gratitude for this job we have been given.

Lucky us. If we can have the grace to open to this work.  Namaste.

For my mother, Memoir from a Daughter

The storm was present in my consciousness all night.  Ebbing and flowing, the wind blowing throughout my sleep.

I was dreaming of snow- a snowstorm to be exact.  The wind whistling through the cracks in the window, the sound of the snow drifting up against the house, and the knowledge that the world would look different when we woke up.

I was cozy in my bed, warm and snug, knowing my parents would keep me that way- safe and comfortable while they slept across the hallway.

I woke up- not in the snow, but to the rain.  And I achingly missed my parents as I  hadn't in years.

To explain, I have always felt pulled in two directions - between the life I have here in California and the one I could have lead in Wisconsin, with my parents and siblings.

We were in our twenties and blithley got in our little car and drove to California, breaking my parents' hearts.

We saw them once or twice a year, but it wasn't the same as living in the same town or even the same state.

I remember once I called my mom. She said, " It's snowing. The first snowfall of the year."

"Is it sticking? " I asked.

"Oh yes.  It's so pretty."

"Oh," I said.  She knew by the tone in my voice how I missed seeing that layer of soft white muffling the sound and turning everything into beauty.

The last time I talked to her, there was no snow.  I said, " You have to eat."  She said, " I ate a strawberry.  When are you coming?"

"July fifteenth."

" That's not soon enough."

"Well, that's when we have our reservations."

And she was right, as she was so many times when I only half listened.

Upon landing, the pilot said, " It is four o'clock in Wisconsin."
When we got to the house, my Dad said, "She died at four o'clock.
Indeed, it wasn't soon enough.

In a dream quite a few years ago, my grandmother and I were standing in the back garden, the one my mother had created, with lilac bushes, snapdragons, phlox and lilies of the valley.  We were looking at the full moon.

My grandmother said, "Look at the moons."

And then there were many moons, one above the other in its own strip of sky, each a different shade of color. Silver, pink, orange, blue and more.

I looked and thought, " Parallel moons, parallel lives, each one a possible life, a constellation of a turning point, I could have   chosen."

And now I am about the age my mother was when I last spoke to her.  And I look at the "Grandmother Moon" dream a little differently.  The moons seem to me to be the stages in a woman's life.  Infant, child, maiden, mother, and grandmother.

And so, I say to my mother," Thank you for bearing me, even though I caused you pain. Thank you for giving me this remembrance full of joy and pain."

I know you experienced happiness, for I have a memory and a picture of you as a young mother, doing a cartwheel on our grass, laughing and full of joy.

I know you showed me the for-get-me-nots that were your mother's favorite flower, so I would remember her and you.

And I do remember.

I was looking for you after dinner.  You were lying on your bed, tired after feeding and looking after a family of five.  You moved over to let me lie next to you. And we listened to the crickets through the screen in the summer night.

The Chakra System

Greetings! The next meditation I would like to offer you on meditatewithfriends.com is called The Chakra System.  Chakras are energy centers that run up and down your spine from above your head to below your feet.

Your body is giving your mind all kinds of information all the  time and knowledge of the chakra system is very helpful in interpreting what is happening in your whole energy system.

I clear my chakras almost every day with various methods, usually before I go to sleep.  Sometimes just a gentle rotation, letting go of energy you gathered during the day that you don't need anymore and filling up again with your own  light is all you need.  Other times you might want to go deeper, as in this meditation. Getting a tune up like this makes you feel great and helps  you become more balanced.

There are no music or sounds on this one, just my voice, so hang in  - the rewards will be there and mostly, have fun with The Chakra System.  Namaste

July 2018 new post leading to "Mountain Lake."

Hello!  I have been enjoying partial retirement for a few months.  It's an interesting place to be.  I now understand that these kinds of changes involve leaving behind part of the identity you have been  in the world and it causes some head trips.

But mainly, you come to know it is time to let go of that part of your life, there is kind of a natural ending.  You can keep it going for awhile but ultimately, it was a good ride and you are done with that section of your life purpose.

And yay! then, on to other things that can be given more attention to.  Kind of like fine tuning what you want to do with the rest of your life.  So I will be discovering that along the way.

Meanwhile, I am putting up one of my very favorite meditations for you on meditatewithfriends.com.  under the free to stream page.  It really is free to download, I have to change the heading. It is the last selection down the row.

In "Mountain Lake"  you will go to the most beautiful place and receive very deep healing in all your cells.  You will experience the presence of some unseen helpers, and perhaps  meet a special guide or the advice of a special guide to help you with whatever you need at this time in your life.

These meditations are given over a long period of time and so build up to a power simply because we have been sitting together for months or years.  They are still effective, I think, for one-time listening.  Write and let me know how you have experienced this one and perhaps I can judge which one would be helpful to you to   put up next time.  I would love to hear from you.

Greetings!  I have been off the grid here for awhile.  On a quest to discover what my health problem was.

I was reluctant to change doctors for a year or more, I don't know why. The new doctor sent me to a specialist who diagnosed me in about eight minutes.  I  kept asking my old doctor if I had PD but she said no, I think because it was presenting in a slightly non-typical way.  However , my mother got it at the same age I am, so I believe heredity is a factor.

So, please change doctors and get a second or third opinion instead of suffering with someone who is not listening!

I am getting balanced, doing very well and am almost back to normal( as normal as I ever was, Lol).

So, I decided I would offer all the meditations free on my website.  There is quite a variety in depth, length, some for children, mostly women and all adults.

I plan on releasing one every few weeks until I am caught up with what we have recorded and then offer new ones.

Beginning with " The Rainforest."  This is fairly heavy, will take you deep, with body healing, meeting guides, and onto some global healing.

You may do this alone or with a group.  Either way you will enter a kind of "no time".  It's length is 8:28 but can seem like 20 minutes.

So, Sending you all healing.

The website is meditatewithfriends.com.  Go to the page that says "Free meditations to download."

It's been awhile since I worked on the website, still a few things to correct and hoping the angels help me to glide on this path!

Happy Holidays!

Greetings to all!

I sit here waiting for the plumber to come.  Of course right before I am hosting a big dinner, something goes wrong! Thank goodness for him, though , as he is honest and knows what he is doing.

For those of you, like me, who need some sustenance during the holidays, please go to December of 2013 in the blog list.  You will find, "Honoring Christmas's Past",  " A Winter Meditation", and
"The Holidays" to help you through.  I just read them and they helped me out tremendously.  Remembering what the holidays are really about and offering healing to the world with these.

So, May your holidays be blessed with love,

Namaste, Lia

The Healing

Greetings, it's been a long time. Hope everyone is doing well.

I have been in and out of a less than perfect state since the last post.

Recently, I was given this process to help me out and maybe it will help someone else, too.

So, Ground and center, taking a deep breath. Beginning with your feet chakras, unspool everything in those chakras.  Thoughts, actions, occurrences, anything from past or recent past that could be clogging up your energy.

It literally is like a spool of thread- pull all the thread off the spools and discard in a pile.

Now your knee chakras,  then your first chakra(base of your spine),
your second chakra in the belly,  your third chakra( solar plexus) and up to your heart chakra, chest area, throat, middle of forehead, and seventh chakra at the top of your head and above your head.

Don't forget your shoulder chakras,  elbows and hands.

Unspool everything until the chakra is empty, empty, empty, just the spool there with nothing wound around it.

If you like, take a look at all the gunk you unspooled in the huge pile over there.  Light it up, burning it all.

See the cool fire burning all the way out of the earth's atmosphere and dissipating into space, to nothing.

Take a deep breath, and let clean, new air swirl into these energy centers in a further cleansing sweep.

Now go outside and lie down on the earth.

Start to bring earth energy into your feet, then knees, up to your first chakra, belly, solar plexus, heart area, throat and down your arms to your hands, then up into your head, ears, all the way to the top of your head.

Fill up all your chakras and everything in-between with lush, green, forest energy.  See the forest, violets growing under the towering trees filled with many leaves, the sunlight streaming through.

Smell the fragrance, the earth and new growth- potent, mysterious, and full of life.

Open your body and your mind to life, to God's love.

And you are safe, safe on this Earth, in this body, in this mind, created by love.

You will live on into the near future.

You will trust the universe again. And love will find you, life will find you again, now.

Breathe, breathe in this gift, and feel a part of the earth beneath you.

Namaste, and healing to all-

Feeling Normal

Wow- I just had an experience while swimming.  I could breathe the air, notice the blue of the sky, feel the softness of the water, and watch the sunlight sparkle.

I am really in my body again and it feels good.

Hear the children play- what heaven, to be normal.

Took awhile-

Just to smell the fresh air, to move fast through the water- joy.

To really be alive, it seems, you must be fully present in your body.

Thank  Goddess, clarity is possible once  again.

At the place I swim, all these teenagers are running around in their bikinis and board shorts. They are in their bodies and having a good time doing it!

The mental thing- that's what gets us into trouble and pain-  screw that- I am going to feel like a kid again if I can.

Wishing you a beautiful day-

P.S. I promise, I am not going to run around in a bikini, though- it's been a one- piece for years!

Don't Try This!

Had the weirdest experience.  My doctor put me on some sleep meds- it is an "off-use" but can work for sleep.

Whoa- not fun. Worked a couple of times, then I had a sleep-walking incident and a couple of anxiety attacks.

That was enough. Now I am trying essential oils.

It was scary/crazy-making.  I talked to a few people who have had similar experiences.

So, beware the ideas others have for you. Use extreme caution in trying drugs. Thank Goddess I was only taking half of the lowest dose.

Thought someone might need to hear this-  Take care- Lia

The Sun Meditation

Breathe, and ground.

Imagine it is a sunny, windy day and you decide to take a walk. The wind is kind of wild, coming in gusts and blowing your hair all around.

You see a bench up ahead, overlooking a meadow.

You sit and close your eyes, the wind sounding like the ocean as you feel  it passing through and around you.

It is warm on your wooden bench.  You are alone, and feeling very calm.

Lean your head back and let the sun enter your body.  It warms your forehead and face.  You can see the sun's light behind your eyes.

It seems this light can heal your body and all your energy bodies.
Let the light heal your sixth chakra and your eyes, filling them with warmth all the way from the front to the back of your head.

Then the warmth beams on your throat and neck, healing and soothing your fifth chakra. Ahhhhhh.

The sun enters your chest and heart, the light expanding here into a soft radiance the goes out in all directions.  Be here awhile.  Breathe.
***

The sun beams into your solar plexus, strengthening your body here in your power chakra.

The sun lights up your belly, soaking into all internal organs here, saturating them with healing.  Take some time to feel this.
***

And finally your first chakra at the base of your spine, grounding you to Earth with the light of the sun, stabilizing you on your earth walk.

As you sit there, the sun heals all of your body and fills your energy up til it reaches  your seventh chakra.  The light of the sun beams directly into the top of your head.  The exchange of energy between you, the earth and the sun is strong, and joyful.

The sun's warmth melts away any imbalance.  The wind blows away any leftover debris you don't need.

You feel complete, warm and at peace.

***

At the horizon, you notice a sea of golden clouds.

Across the sea of light, your guide emerges.  Your guide reaches out and places a crown of light upon your head.  It lights up your whole being.

This crown of energy is personal to you.

It can provide healing on all levels, energy for your goals and other gifts only you can perceive.

Take some time, feel these gifts that are offered and be open to any messages you may receive-

***

And now your guide retreats- you bow in thanks.

Feeling the wind, the sun, the sound and glory of nature all around you,  say goodbye to the fields of cloud and sun, continuing on your journey healed and with an open heart on this day.

Namaste,  Lia

P.S.  I did go out for a walk and this is what happened. I meditated there on the bench. Then I went home and wrote the meditation,  typed it up and gave it to my class that night.  By that time, the slight sore throat I had was completely gone.

So, if you do this one as you sit in the sun, just make sure it is a cool day, not a heatwave! Blessings to you-

Having a less than perfect day?

Did you ever have a bad day?  Sure you have and so have I.

A day where everything goes slightly askew or totally wrong.

A day where all your spiritual progress toward becoming a more compassionate person feels like it got wiped out, and will be forever.

Ahhh- take a deep breath.  Then forgive yourself.

We can blame it on the planets, or the barometric pressure.  Or, it could be our own energy or someone else's.

We are imperfect and we make mistakes.

I still wake up in the middle of the night remembering something from long ago.  Nooo! I can't believe I said that, did that, reacted that way, etc.

So if your bad day was today, examine the day, what happened.  Think what you would do differently, or how you could have shifted the situation.

Then accept your behaviour and move on.

In our meditation group, after a long and deep night, we all came out of the meditation and shared what we received. Astoundingly, in each her own way, we all got the same message, "You are forgiven."

Wow! Thank you God and Goddess and other people for this.

It really was profound and covers alot of ground. Now we need to really internalize this great gift we have received.

Tomorrow is another day to become a better  person, Joan Didion said this, I think, and I try to keep it in mind.

I suppose this feels like a "first world problem" but it still matters to those around us and to our own journey, and so ultimately to the world.  Being human is sometimes not so easy.

I was with my then four year old one day and the question came up ( it is amazing what four-year-olds will say and think about)  "Why are we here?"

She said, "I'm here to be with you."

If we could embrace the consciousness of all ages and expressions of life, we would be perfect.

But I agree with my four-year-old-  I am here to be with you- to create Love and Beauty and try to understand each other.

So, I send love to each of you and wish you many very good days.

Namaste,   Lia

P.S. Next time, a new meditation.  Also, I am thinking about streaming alot more meditations on my website or putting them up on itunes or something. Working on how to make the meditations more available.  I sometimes want to scroll back and do my earlier meditation blogs but find it a bit of a hassle, that's why I am thinking of putting them in book form, with a table of contents, or just recording more and streaming them.  So, I'll keep you posted! Lol!

Fading Friendships

I was thinking the other day about how some friendships just seem to end.  They just  kind of fade away without any big break-up.

I have experienced both sides of this many times.  It could be as simple as your kids now going to different schools.  The common ground that brought you together is no longer there.

Or, maybe you have completed your contract with them.  You can just feel it.

I remember someone I once meditated with.  We were getting together less and less often.  Then I bought her some earrings.  When I gave them to her I knew in that moment we were done.  It was a parting gift that needed to be given and then we were complete.

It's OK- people change, life changes.

I know someone who seems to keep in contact with everyone she ever met since high school- she thrives on it and does so gracefully.

I confess, I can never seem to keep track of more than four or five people at a time plus family.

It is just the flow of life.  I think of the beautiful children's poem by Rose Fyleman, where the fairy releases all her purchases, like the mouse  "then she kissed its silken ears, thanked it, and let it go."

Letting people go, just blessing them, without any head trips- a good move, I think.

And if life brings you together again, that's a gift, too.

***

So, breathe, ground yourself, and center.  Bring in your own energy from above and fill your body with golden light all the way from your toes to the top of your head.

Breathe.  Notice any cords still lingering between you and this person.

If it feels right, gently dissolve what is left of these, watching them fall away into nothing.

Fill your aura now, repairing any rips or tears.  Fill with your own llight until your aura is healthy, elastic and strong, ready to go forth with new creativity and possibilities in the future. Who knows who will come into your life tomorrow?

Meditations on the Heart

As we approach Valentine's Day, I thought it would be a good opportunity to do a heart meditation.

I looked at quite a few in the archives and noticed how the heart chakra is, of course, always included and present in all the meditations.

In the year or so before receiving a pacemaker, I remember I felt as if I couldn't fully contact my heart chakra while meditating. I didn't know why, it just felt spacey and out of reach.

Near the end of that time, I  had to keep my eyes open and not " go in" with my students- I felt I was about to pass out, and I was,  I found out later, since my heart was stopping.

What does this mean?  I don't know.  I felt I was always coming from the heart, but like everyone, needed to open my heart more to be truly compassionate.

Lately, members of my family have had heart surgery, heart problems, heart attacks- aging, I guess and , yes, society's heart in general is under alot of stress!

We have all had our hearts broken in various ways and broken others' hearts, too, just by living- but we wouldn't give our lives up to avoid being wounded.

Every heart seeks love and communion.  The heart teaches us about relationship and joins our emotional and  spiritual selves to our physical selves.

So, I give you these thoughts on the heart, and this meditation and we will see if any insight or healing is there.

To begin, Breathe.

Let the air swirl in like a wave and circle, cleaning out each chakra.  Releasing old residue, cobwebs, thought forms hanging on from the past that you no longer need.  You don't have to know exactly what they are, just intend to release. Let go on the outbreath.

Take some time.

After this cleansing, open your 7th chakra at the top of your head and let Light pour in, flooding your body with light and new, clear energy.

Now, focus on your heart chakra.  Quiet yourself until you feel your heart beating.  Quiet, quiet, until you can almost feel the blood moving in your veins. Breathe.

This heart is yours.  It has been with you for a long time.

Picture yourself in your mother's womb.  Hear your heart beat and your mother's as you float and dream, getting ready to enter this world.  Hear the beat that connects you to this life.

Now, picture yourself in your crib, crying- how that heart is beating!

Feel yourself a little older, running through the grass with joy.  Feel the grass under your little bare feet.

Now you are a little older, taking test at school. Your heart is there beating with you as you think and concentrate.

This heart has been there all along.  It hold memories from everything you have experienced, from all the times in your life.

Now, let light from above flow through your heart. Let any cloudiness or dark spots in the area around your heart be dispersed, washed away by the purest, clearest light.  See the light flow from your heart through your arteries, opening them, clearing them.  See your heart as a healthy muscle, pumping the blood and healing light throughout your body, all chambers of the heart working perfectly.

See your life force energy flowing freely and joyfully.  Let it reach all the cells and organs of your body, purifying them and returning them to their full vitality.

Now, go deeper into your heart.  Find the place where your innocence exists.  The first place, where life came to you, and you joyfully reached out to it. Be there awhile.

Reach again now and hear the heart beat of All That Is.  Open to that feeling.  Let the light of a Higher Heart come and surround your heart.  Know that you are part of the plan, whatever that means to you.

Imagine living your life being aware of and in alignment with this Universal flow of energy.

Remember times in your life when you really felt in the flow of Divine Energy.

Is it possible something larger is directing your life along with your participation through choices you have made, insights that have come to you, or the people you have connected with and love?

Take some time, and be open to any answers you receive.

***

Breathe, and gently come back to your body. Become aware of where you are sitting, wiggle your fingers and toes.

Fill your lungs with life, align with your hopes and dreams, going forward with an open heart, a strong heart this day, ready for new adventures in relationship to your loved ones and the world.

Namaste- Lia

P.S.  After all this, I feel I am more in touch with my heart, that the heart center has been challenged and is more open.

I find myself remembering to "rise above it" more often in uncomfortable situations, or when I find myself judging myself or others too harshly.

I hope I continue to embrace life in general from this more heart-empowered space and follow my most recent instruction from my guides, which is "Use Joy as Fuel."

P.S.S.

Also, thank you to the cardiac team at Marin General Hospital for re-connecting me to my heart.  Wonderful people who do this work every day- Many blessings to them-

Musings on a Tuesday

Is it just me, or is this aging thing a real trip?

I did not focus on my parents' aging process- mostly I lived across the country- but whoa, now I understand how I could have tried to help them more.

That's the way of it, though.  Until you are the age they were, you don't fully get it.  That's true of every age, I guess.

When you have children, you get to see the whole process, and also to view your own childhood through different eyes.

Consciousness is painful sometimes, with joy mixed in.

"It's the way it is set up."

Probably true.  Must just re-invent yourself with each new awakening, suck it up, be grateful and look forward, trying to be truly loving along the way.

Acknowledge, clear, re-invent and live forward!

( And for God(dess)'s sake, quite wallowing!  (My friend and I say this to each other when it's necessary,  here I am saying it to myself!)) Lol-

Many blessings and Happy Holidays- Lia

Global Healing Meditation

This is what we did the other night-

Begin to breathe, letting go of your day. Take a few deep breaths, clearing away tension.  Release.  In your own time, naturally let your breathing slow til you are breathing in a relaxed way.

To breathe is to be alive- to bring in life force energy.  Breathing reflects the breathing of the whole universe as it expands and contracts.  Breathing is "the breath of God."  Now, as you breathe, align your breath with the breath of God and Goddess, the breath of the universe.Take some time.

***
Bring your attention to your heart.  Your heartbeat is the very sound of life.  Remember seeing your baby's heartbeat on the sonogram?  Then you knew you truly carried a new life.

Go deeply into your heartbeat and the rhythm of the universe.  Know you are alive.

***
Align your heart with the heartbeat of the Great Mother. Allow yourself to rest upon Her, feeling her heartbeat, for She holds you here.

Now, easily, gently, align your heartbeat with everyone else's in this room.  This entrainment has probably already occurred, just realize it.

Open your seventh chakra at the top of your head and begin to  fill with Light.  Meditating with Light is seeing and working with the light of Divine Energy.  Let the light heal the sore, beat-up places, the empty places, the places filled with doubt and sadness.  Let the Light enter your bloodstream, healing your cells and strengthening their functions.

***

Allow even more llight to come through your seventh chakra.  Visualize a large cup or chalice in the middle of the circle.  Channel light down to your heart chakra.  Now, send it into the cup in the center of the circle.  Fill the chalice with Llight to overflowing until it spills over the rim.

Let this healing Light flow over the brim to cover the whole Earth.

Let it be like a balm to all people, entering their hearts, quelling their fear. Fill it again and let it calm Mother Earth, for she is always affected by the emotions man.

And now the light in the center of the circle has become very beautiful.  The cup fades and in its place you sense a Presence.

It is the Presence of Peace.

Place what needs to be healed in this Holy Light. People of all countries,  relationships between countries, world leaders, the grieving, the land  itself, the animals. Place anyone you know who needs healing in the Light.  After a while, people and situations will show up, walking through the light.  Take some time to hold the energy, with help from above, for this to occur.

***

Do you feel other groups like this one coming together around the world?  See all these circles of peace and healing connected like a web of light all over the globe. Strengthen these lines of Light.

Feel the heartbeat of all the people in the world who want peace.  Align your heart with theirs.  Begin to send this feeling out as a beacon of llight and higher consciousness, and a hope that we can  provide a loving world for our children and grandchildren.

Begin to feel a sense of peace in your heart, a peace that permeates all your bodies, mental, physical, emotional and Spiritual.

***

It is time to close our circle now.  Thank all our helpers, seen and unseen who graced us with their energy tonight.
